The Chair, Tracy, called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and delivered the invocation Everyone participated in reading the Vision, Mission and Shared Values – all participated in Sharing, nurturing, and support.
MINUTES: The Council approved the June minutes
VISION CORE REPORT: Betty, Vision Coordinator, presented Sunday visioning results through July 6th, which brought forth two major themes, raising the community consciousness and expanding the teen program. All are encouraged to attend the Sunday Visionings.
YOUTH MINISTRY: The council discussed the Youth Program, specifically some concerns brought forth from a couple community members.
NEW MINISTER SELECTION COMMITTEE: Bylaw regarding Selection Committee was read aloud. Tracy asked for suggestions from the Council for possible Selection Committee members, 3 from Leadership Council, 3 from laity, 2 of the 6 must be Practitioners. Several names were brought forth and discussed. It was agreed, Tracy will compose an invitation to the body to attend a special meeting, September 17th, to introduce the process to all. Ian suggested that we reach out to Rev. Christine Jeffers at CSL Home Office and request the selection process documentation. Tracy agreed to do this. Betty will lead Visioning at the September meeting, specifically for a purpose of raising the community consciousness and bringing forth a new spiritual leader.
BANKING ISSUES AND CREDIT CARD: Mary requested that Concordia opens a new Operating Account at Citizens Bank which will earn cash back rather than cost $3 per month. In addition, Mary expressed concern that we use a debit card rather than a credit card since the debit card would allow an identity thief access to our bank account funds. The Council approved both the new cash back Operating Account and the credit card. A general discussion around supplying the Teen Ministry with a credit card was held. Betty will explore other options for the Teen Ministry and bring forth her findings to the council at a later date.
MEMBERSHIP: The membership applications from Roger and Lisa Medley were approved by the Leadership Council.
Joanne Sapers gave the benediction. The Chair adjourned the meeting at 8:10pm
Respectfully submitted, Mary Broomall Minute recorder
